The Path I Create

Hi there! It’s such a joy to have you here. You are very welcomed!

My name is Andréa Pacheco Miglionico, I was born and raised in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and so far, I have spent more time living in different cities and countries as grand as my dear hometown.

Well, you already know I am a psychologist, but before all that construction, I had to face that moment we have to decide who we want to be. I was fascinated by biology, law, and everything that dealt with human and social sciences. I had worked during high school at the biology lab and pictured myself as a microbiology college student, but something was missing. Then law was a possible option, defending people and making justice seemed a fine way to help people and society, but what about all the biological research and the laboratory exciting life? I was still in that limbo moment. Do you share similar struggle, or did you always know the path you want to go?

I just couldn’t find the exact path to take, and it felt incredibly unrestingly choosing any of the possibilities available then. So, I didn’t. Well, at that point in life I had already become a professional ballerina, was teaching Ballet and tap dance and, unexpectedly, just like that, I became a flight attendant, go figure, huh? Time has passed and I have collected some incredible experiences, moved abroad, and amid life itself I, finally, understood the best and right way to be in the world.

It was then, within the non-stop study and the profession in psychology that I really felt the person I am and the one I become every single new day. I found my place, understood the purpose behind that whim of science, social wellness, and humanity that was urging me to be what I was meant to be. Isn’t it incredible that we only know it when we find it? Then you feel at ease. It has been like that since I had long ago applied for college in early 2002. Each step, each new project I encounter new and better possibilities to be with the other person who chooses me to share their unique path into their self-discovery. The constant improvement, both personal and professionally, gives me the tools to serve with ethics, responsibility, and love for what I do, for myself in this path, and for the others. Now, looking ahead, I see myself doing the same thing, creating new ways of learning, and giving, living the self-realization way. How important it is to know which paths we need to go, isn’t it?

I read and study. I am kind of restless and very curious. I simply love to read and learn, it’s in my character! I have a list of books to be purchased, another one of the ones I haven’t read yet. I’m always reorganizing it and making space for new ideas. I have learned to appreciate digital books, although nothing tops the experience of having a brand-new paper book in my hands, to flip the pages back and forth, make notes, place some tags, and slip in some page markers! So, I make peace with myself by having a nice Kindle for literature and “books to satiate my curiosity”. And the ones I consider for studies, technical, and all sorts of classicals, must be the paper ones, carefully accommodated on the shelves.

I have always liked to write, and I have been experimenting and experiencing this way of communicating with the world. Interesting that often so frequently what clients in psychotherapy mostly need is to listen to their own voices expressing their inner world into words that ultimately translate feeling and thoughts… So writing is somewhat like that, cathartic too. Well, I do have some projects, some are still just notes, others are developing their shapes and formats.

I am a mother of a son and a daughter, two amazing human beings! We live close to each other in the same neighborhood. It is a nice emotionally place to watch them as grownups living their lives’ experiences with serenity, consciousness, and joy. We are a small Ohana in numbers and an enormous one in complicity and fellowship, nurtured with respect. We keep on learning, always rescuing and relying on the love that connects us all, as I frequently say, “since ever, to forever”. I also share this existence with my dogs and cats, who make me an honored kahu, as the Hawaiian say.

Well, here is a little bit about me. I am very happy for this opportunity to connect with you! I am here for you, only one click away! Hope to see you soon!

Kind Regard,

Andréa
